Internet Typographical Symbols:
One of the most popular characteristics of e-mail are emoticons. When e-mailing your students, try out some of these symbols. As you can see, it s up to you to add some of the details (like a nose and beard). ":-)" is happy (with a nose); " : - ( }" is sad (with a nose and beard); ":D" is laughing; ":-o" is surprised.
How to create symbols with your Keyboard?
To create these symbols, HOLD the Alt Key + use the Calculator Numeric Pad.
Now just type the number next to the symbol you want on the numeric pad, then release the Alt Key and the symbol will appear!
For Example: Alt Key + Calculator Number = Symbol.
To create the ® symbol Alt + 0174 = ®
Alt Key + Number = Symbol
130 = é [accent over e ]
0176 = ° [degrees for Temperature]
0169 = © [Copyright]
0174 = ® [Registered Trademark]
0153 = ™ [Trade Mark]
155 = ¢ [cent sign]
156 = £ [Pound Sterling]
0165 = ¥ [Japanese Yen sign]
0128 = € [Euro symbol]
0190 = ¾
171 = ½
